Head of Supplier Development Engineering (Semiconductors)

Location: Puchong, Selangor, Malaysia

ZF Materials Management is seeking a new Head of Supplier Development for Semiconductors.

Your Role:

• Continue building up and develop global Supplier Development Organization for Semiconductors
• Drive KPIs for supplier performance measurements, regular monitoring and improvement of established KPIs
• Lead the supplier development team (ca. 25 people) in three regions (EU, US, APAC) and across different divisions
• Cross functional alignment of supplier/technology strategy with Engineering (Center of Competence Semiconductors) and Commodity Purchasing
• Support all new core developments in close collaboration with ZF’s engineering
• Responsibility for supplier development in the sourcing process
• Develop best known methods to audit semiconductor supplier locations
• Develop and maintain ZF global best practice standard and serve as a "standard owner" for Semiconductor area of expertise
• Steer and drive continuous improvement plans at the supplier’s manufacturing facilities to improve supplier performance / minimize risk
• Lead complex quality concerns from root cause analysis to definition of required corrective & preventive actions
• Manage the ZF’s supplier readiness process, including supplier and parts risk assessments, pre-sourcing technical reviews, APQP and PPAP approval to ensure a successful launch of new products.

Your Profile:

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in semiconductors/electronics manufacturing, with excellent knowledge in quality management
• Working knowledge of AIAG core quality tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA and SPC)
• Experience with SPC, FMEA, 8D methodology, Control Plan, MSA, DOE, process change management and problem-solving tools
• Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools and able to use statistical analysis to challenge data
• Knowledge of IATF16949, VDA6.3 and AEC Q100/101/200 (Automotive Standards) requirements
• Excellent verbal and written English language skills
• Experience of working within a global team
• Strong Leadership skills, self-motivated and able to work independently
• Willing to travel as needed
• Lead and work with cross functional teams across different time zones and willing to regularly participate in conference calls outside of working hours.
